Honda Selects Autocraft AGCs to Support Assembly Automation of the 2018 Accord

Autocraft, an Eckhart Holdings company and leading provider of industrial material handling automation, will supply American Honda Motor Company with Autocraft E3500 Autonomous Guided Carts (AGCs) for material delivery in the company's Marysville, Ohio assembly plant. 

"We're excited to continue to grow and strengthen our long-standing relationship with the Honda team and to contribute to the production of the 2018 Accord," said Daniel Burseth, Autocraft's General Manager.  "Honda's Marysville assembly plant is a world-class operation and the Autocraft team is excited for the continuing opportunity to support their automation initiatives."

Autocraft has a strong track record of success with American Honda Motor Company and was the recipient of a 2016 Honda Performance Excellence Award.  American Honda Motor Company awarded this honor to just 25 suppliers from a pool of more than 5,000 that provide the equipment and services to support the company's North American operations.  The Performance Excellence Award recognized Autocraft for exceeding expectations with respect to service, cost, and quality.

The Autocraft E3500 Autonomous Guided Cart has rapidly emerged as the leading AGC for lineside kit delivery and assembly line applications in automotive, home appliance, and aerospace manufacturing facilities throughout North America.

American Honda Motor Company produced more than 6 million vehicles, power equipment products, and recreational motor vehicles in the US in 2015.  More than 99% of the Honda and Acura vehicles sold in the US were assembled by their North American operations.


Rhino Assembly and Eckhart to Support Volvo Cars' First US Factory in South Carolina

Rhino Assembly Corporation and Eckhart, Inc., are pleased to announce they have been awarded a major contract to manufacture and install equipment for the final assembly area of Volvo Cars’ first US factory near Ridgeville, SC.

Eckhart will design and build best-in-class advanced manufacturing solutions for the final assembly area that will optimize employee safety, product quality and productivity.  “We’re looking forward to working closely with the Volvo Cars’ team to conceptualize, design and deliver highly engineered tooling solutions for Volvo Cars’ first US manufacturing plant,” said Andy Storm, Eckhart’s President & CEO.

Rhino Assembly will provide local technical expertise to the Volvo Cars assembly team throughout the tool integration process.  “We’ll be there with Volvo Cars every step of the way to ensure the highest level of customer responsiveness," said Dan Brooks, President & CEO of Rhino Assembly.

“Eckhart’s track record of supporting the largest automotive launches in the world with a dedicated and reliable team of highly skilled engineers, coupled with Rhino Assembly’s local technical expertise allows us to deliver a fully integrated, one-stop solution to the Volvo Cars team.  Together, we look forward to supporting the successful launch of the new factory and expanding our relationship with Volvo Cars in South Carolina,” Storm said.

This contract strengthens Eckhart and Rhino Assembly’s ability to provide advanced manufacturing solutions to final assembly automotive customers across the southern region of the US.  The Rhino Assembly team covers 15 states spanning from Missouri to Indiana and to the entire southeast.

Justin Neveau is a key member of our assembly team supporting manufacturing builds and field installations at Eckhart customer sites across North America.  Having grown up on a family farm, Justin brings a strong work ethic, a creative mind, and a can-do attitude to Eckhart.  He has gained a tremendous amount of knowledge working side by side with our most seasoned Assemblers and recently led a very complex tool installation for an Eckhart customer located in Texas.  Justin is an active member of our Safety Committee and is also an Eckhart First Responder.

Justin grew up in Perry, MI where he continues to reside with his lovely wife, Anna.  He enjoys hunting, fishing and working on the family farm that his family has owned since 1989.
