LANSING, MI – December 7, 2017 – Eckhart, Inc. announced today that it has acquired Polker Design Services (“Polker”). Eckhart designs and manufactures advanced manufacturing solutions for the world’s largest industrial companies. Eckhart’s suite of solutions includes autonomous guided vehicles, automated assembly systems, robotics, 3D printing, and specialized ergonomic assembly line tools and equipment. Eckhart has been a portfolio company of Nashville-based LFM Capital since 2015. Polker is Eckhart’s second acquisition. Eckhart acquired Autocraft in July 2016.

WATERTOWN TWP – A Lansing-area manufacturer has been selected by Volvo to design and integrate the tooling for the company’s first automobile plant in the U.S.
Eckhart began work on the multi-million-dollar deal earlier this month, said Andy Storm, company president and CEO.
The tooling will be used in the final assembly of the next generation S60 sedan, which will be produced near Ridgeville, South Carolina, in Berkeley County.

Eckhart's dedicated team of employees designed, built, and delivered a complex and highly engineered secure tool to help CAT torque the head/valve assembly on one of their largest commercial engines.
The tool reflects CAT’s commitment to investing in advanced manufacturing solutions for their assembly team. 26 individual secure tools execute a torque sequence in a precise and coordinated manner, with the click of a button. Gone are the manual torque wrenches and reaction bars of yesterday. Operators are able to articulate the tool with a custom HMI screen that also provides integrated LED lighting for automatic and manual secure commands.
